We said the other day that this is the time of the year when clubs release players as they take stock of their rosters for the forthcoming season. Another Aussie has also been released with the Pirates parting ways with Adelaide RHP Mitch Fienemann. Mitch was signed by the Pirates in 2009.
He had previously been made an offer by the Red Sox but was injured and required labrum surgery before the contract was signed and the offer was withdrawn.
In 3 seasons with the Pirates he was used out of the pen and went W5-11 with a 3.73ERA. He spent 2010 and 2011 in Low A.
