A – Adamson, Moanaroa, Searle, Warner
Ryan Searle came on in the 5th for Daytona with the bases loaded and one out. He did give up a double which allowed two runs to score (not his runs in the stats or course) but then retired the side with no further damage. He then went on threw 3 scoreless innings in what ended up being an 11th inning loss to Clearwater who scored 5 runs in their 11th to win 14-9.
We mentioned that Stefan Welch was struggling with the bat and the next day he broke his drought quite convincingly. We then commented on Corey Adamson’s lack of success at the plate – so today he went out and hit 2-4, scored 2 runs, got 1RBI and stole a base in Ft Wayne’s 9-7 loss to West Michigan. We hope that this is the start for the talented Corey.
Josh Warner was charged with the loss for Lakewood in their 6-0 loss to Hagerstown. He lasted five innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits, while walking two and striking out three.
Boss Moanaroa was 0-3 for Greenville today.
A – Kandilas, Moanaroa, Searle, Warner
David Kandilas went 0-4 with 2Ks in Modesto Nuts 4-3 loss to Inland Empire.
Boss Moanaroa has returned to Greenville and went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks and 1 run in Greenville’s 4-2 win over Charleston.
Ryan Searle started his season with a win when he came on in the 5th with 1 out and 2 on. He immediately finished the inning with 2Ks and then went on to throw 4-2 innings for 2H, 0R, 6K. The Daytona Cubs blanked Brevard County 8-0 and that gave the win to Ryan.
Josh Warner was the starting pitcher for Lakewood today and threw 5 innings for 4H, 2R, 1BB, 7K. He came out with the score 2-1 to Kannapolis who went on to win 5-4.
Josh Warner rides five-run first inning to victory

Williamsport, Pa. – With impending weather looming all night, the Crosscutters needed an early lead and quick work from starter Josh Warner, and that’s exactly what they got.
Williamsport jumped ahead 5-0 in the first inning as Warner delivered six shutout innings in a 6-2 win over Jamestown.
“It’s definitely a nice morale boost for the team,” Warner added after the game, “Now we just try to win as many as possible down this final stretch.”
Warner’s six scoreless innings were only marred by two hits, as the right-handed Queenslander worked a quick pace and brought back flashes of his early-season dominance.
Ryan Searle sent back to A; Atherton gets 1st loss, Hogben allows runs, Warner 3rd win
After 2 games in AAA, throwing 6.2 scoreless innings and collecting a win Ryan Searle was returned today to the Daytona Cubs in the Florida State League. He threw a scoreless 5th inning in a 4-2 loss to Clearwater.
At AAA he went 6.2INN, 4H, 0R, 2NB, 5K for a 0.00ERA.
Tim Atherton took his 1st loss today when he pitched the 11th/12th innings. He threw a scoreless 11th but in the 12th with 2 out he lost control walking 3, hitting a batter and allowing 3 singles to blow the game. Peoria defeated Beloit 9-6.
Josh Warner collected his 3rd win when Williamsport defeated Jamestown 10-6. As starter he threw 5 innings for 7 hits allowing 4 runs (3 earned), 2 walks whilst striking out 4.
The last week has not been kind to Kable Hogben. He has allowed 6 – 4 – 5 runs in his last 3 games. Today his line was 1INN, 3H, 5R, 2ER, 1BB, 0K.
His ERA is a respectable 3.84 for the season.
Rhodes homers: Warner takes loss: Wade extends hitting streak: Beau Bishop
Rory Rhodes has been a little quiet of late but he seems to have come out of his shell the last couple of days. Yesterday he went 1-3 and today he let loose going 2-4 with a double and a home run in E’Town’s 5-1 win over the Kingsport Mets. Rory is hitting .275.
Logan Wade’s triple and subsequent run against the Red Sox today was the only offensive success for the Twins and extended Logan’s hitting streak to 9 games. He had a 1-4 day with a run and is hitting .343 for his last 10 games.
The Red Sox won 5-1 and New Zealander Beau Bishop also had a 1-4 day with a run for the Sox
Josh Warner took the loss today when Williamsport suffered a 2 hit shut out going down 4-0 to Jamestown.
Josh was 6INN, 5H, 3R, 1BB, 5K. His record is now W2-6 with a 4.41ERA
Matt Kennelly extends hitting streak; de San Miguel & Josh Warner solid.
Matt Kennelly went 2-3 today for the Mississippi Braves scoring a run and hitting an RBI double. He has now hit safely in his last 6 games.
He has certainly become hot at the plate – he’s .448 in his last 10 games and has a SLG of .621 and a .529OBP.
Allan de San Miguel was 1-3 today for the Frederick Keys. In his last 10 games he is hitting .297 and .283 overall. Hopefully he will maintain that pace and get sent back up where he belongs.
Josh Warner had a solid outing today allowing only 1 run on 4 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings whilst striking out 2. He has a 4.40ERA.
A – Tim Atherton, Ryan Searle, Josh Warner
Tim Atherton continues to impress throwing 2 scoreless innings today. His line was 2INN, 0H, 0R, 1BB, 3K. He has a 1.95ERA after 18 games (37 innings).
After a disappointing July Ryan Searle seems to have bounced back so far this month. He got the win on Thursday and came back today and threw 2 scoreless innings allowing 2 hits whilst striking out 1.
On the other hand Josh Warner is not having a happy time of late. He lost his 5th consecutive game today when he gave up 8 runs on 11 hits in 5.1 innings. He was tagged with 2 home runs and 2 walks whilst striking out 6. He is W2-5 with a 4.64ERA.
A – Cameron Lamb gets 1st win. Campbell, Hogben, Warner
Cameron Lamb is progressing well in his rehab assignments. After his promotion from Rookie League to A League he has thrown 6 innings for a 1.50ERA and collected his 1st win in his latest start throwing 1.2 scoreless innings for Salem-Keizer in their 3-2 win over Corey Adamson’s Eugene. He came on in the 5th with 2 outs and and on a strict pitch limitation, faced the minimum 5 hitters in his relief outing. In fact Corey was one of Cameron’s victims hitting a fly ball to LF. Corey went 0-4 for the day.
Andrew Campbell has hit in every one of his 4 games since being promoted to A ball. He is hitting .308.
July has not been a happy month in the win/loss column for Josh Warner. He is W1-4 and overall he is 2-4 with a 3.67ERA after 9 games (49.0 innings).
Kable Hogben threw his 6th consecutive scoreless game. He has a 1.47 ERA in his last 10 games.
Oeltjen further extends hitting streak, Adamson, Lee, Warner
Isotope’s Trent Oeltjen extended his hitting streak to 7 games today going 1-2 coming in off the bench in the 6th inning in a marathon 13 inning contest. The Isotopes won 6-5 over Round Rock.
Trent has been on fire in recent games, going 11-27 (.407) during his hitting streak.
Wilson Lee threw 2 innings for the GCL Pirates against the Tigers. He gave up 2R, 0ER, on 3 hits with 1K. Wilson has a 1.72ERA.
Josh Warner took his 3rd loss when Lowell defeated Wiliamsport 3-1. His record is 2-3 with 3.20ERA. His line today was 6INN, 5H, 2R, 2BB, 4K.
Corey Adamson was 2-4 for Eugene. He is hitting .240.
A – Allan de San Miguel, Kable Hogben, Peter Moylan, Warwick Saupold, Josh Warner
Peter Moylan had a better rehab outing and Kable Hogben and Warwick Saupold threw scoreless innings whilst Josh Warner suffered his 2nd loss of the season in A League action.
Peter went 1INN, 1H, 1R, 1BB, 1K for the Rome Braves in their 2-1 win over Savannah. He is expected to throw again tomorrow.
Peter commented on Twitter after the game:- “Had more life on my pitches last night. The HPB and a walk are frustrating but this is still my spring training. Ironing out the kinks.”
Kable threw 3.1INN, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 2K. He faced the minimum 3 pitches in each of the 6th, 7th and 8th innings and left in the 9th with 1 out and 1 on. His Silverhawks lost 7-5 in the 10th. He has a 2.70ERA.
Warwick collected his 2nd Hold throwing 3INN, 0H, 0R, 1BB, 5K. He is having a very good July – his ERA is 0.83 in his last 10 games and 2.79 for the season.
Josh allowed 6 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks in his worst outing so far. He suffered the loss and is now 2-2 with a 3.23ERA.
Allan de San Miguel has been sent down to Frederick Keys in A League. He was hitting .184 in his last 10 games at AA.
