Grant Balfour bails out the A’s for his 11th Save
Just when Grant Balfour was beginning to relax and think about the smorgasbord in the clubhouse after a good win against Cleveland he found that his services were suddenly required and he had to get his game face on in a hurry.
With the A’s holding a comfortable 8-1 lead going into the 9th it should have been fairly routine for arguably the strongest bullpen in the MLB. But it wasn’t to be with relievers Scribner and Blevins allowing 4 runs for 2 outs before Grant came in with a runner on 1st to strike out the final Indian giving the A’s an 8-5 victory and Grant his 11th Save.
