Impressive Aussie pitchers choke off runs
As well as Andrew Russell four other Aussie pitchers threw scoreless games yesterday.
Leading the charge is Kable Hogben who continues to blow them away in the A League having now 9 consecutive scoreless outings after yesterday’s effort of 2.1INN, 0H, 0R, 1BB, 5K. The last time he allowed a run was back on the 4th July. The hitters haven’t had anything to celebrate when he’s on the mound since then.
Tim Atherton is in the same League as Kable and has had 2 scoreless outings this week when in his latest performance he threw 2INN, 0H, 0R, 3BB, 2K for a 1.85ERA.
Ryan Searle has had 2 consecutive scoreless outings. Yesterday – 2.1INN, 1H, 0R, 3K following his 2 scoreless innings last Sunday. In his last 3 outings he has allowed just 1 run in 8 innings for a 1-0 record. Quite an improvement.
Warwick Saupold got back to back wins when he completed 5 innings yesterday allowing 1R on 4 hits and 2 walks whilst striking out 4. Since his promotion to Advanced A he is W2-0 with a 3.24ERA.
