Rochester Red Wings fall to Columbus – Liam Hendriks.
Written by Staff reports
Liam Hendriks endured one of the worst starts of his professional career and the Rochester Red Wings’ offense could not keep pace in an 8-5 loss at Columbus on Saturday.
Hendriks, who was 7-1 with a 1.84 ERA coming in, gave up seven runs and 12 hits in his five innings.
He allowed at least one run in every inning and the 12 hits were the most against him in his professional career.
Columbus hitters were aggressive early in the count against the right-hander, evidenced by first-pitch swings by seven straight hitters in the third and fourth innings.
