Warwick Saupold gets promoted – what’s with 58?
Warwick Saupold earned his promotion to High A
We mentioned yesterday that Warwick Saupold had been outstanding in his last 10 games collecting a 0.83ERA in the process. Well obviously Detroit like what they have seen and today sent Warwick back to Lakeland, Florida to join their High A team, Lakeland Flying Tigers in the Florida State League.
Looking over Warwick’s stats at West Michigan we wondered about the No 58. Note this:- he threw 58 innings, giving up 58 hits whilst striking out 58.
More importantly he only gave up 10 walks and 3 home runs. So for Michigan as a reliever, he finished W2-1, 2S and a 2.79ERA. Well done Warwick.
