James Brooks – assigned

 Following  spring training with the Washington Nationals, James Brooks  has been assigned to the Gulf Coast Rookie League.

Brooks, was a two-year starter at shortstop who was an honorable mention all-Pac-12 selection, hit .304 for the Utes and led the Pac-12 with 21 doubles. He was fifth in the league with 10 home runs and ninth with a .529 slugging percentage. Brooks was also named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team. He was a second-team all-Mountain West Conference pick last year.
