Final Countdown for Eager Spokane Indians – Guy Edmonds.
In the immortal words of the music group, Europe, it’s the final countdown. Only three days remain until the opening of the Northwest League baseball season, and players are just now starting to arrive in Spokane.
“This is my first time, I haven’t really traveled to the states before,” said Edmonds. “Flying in, it was a nice change from Arizona – the brown to the green! It’s good to be here.”
Opening day for the Indians is Friday. Players began arriving Monday from as far away as Japan and Dominican Republic. Some of them are seeing the United States for the first time, including Australian catcher Guy Edmonds.
