AA – Russell, Searle, Tanner
Andrew Russell collected his 1st win with the Mississippi Braves today by striking out 1 Birmingham hitter in the 9th with 2 out and loaded bases in a 2-2 tie game. The Braves then went on to score 3 runs in the 10th to give Andrew the win.
It was a fitting result for Andrew who has yet to give up a run in 7 games played.
Not such a good day for Ryan Searle who collected his 1st loss with the Tennessee Smokies when he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 4 innings of work against the Chattanooga Lookouts who won 7-6.
Clayton Tanner also picked up his 1st loss when the Pensacola Blue Wahoos went down 7-3 to Montgomery. Clayton relieved the starter in the 7th, got 2 out but left the mound with 2 on base, both of whom scored when Clayton’s reliever gave up a 2RBI double before retiring the side. Tough way to lose a game and his 0.00ERA. It was the 1st time that Clayton had given up a run in his 8 games this season. His ERA now stands at 2.00.
