ROOKIE – Dylan Child, Josh Hendricks, Wilson Lee, Mark Trau, Josh Warner, Jacob Younis
Lots of double headers in the Gulf Coast League today as they make up lost games due to the recent inclement weather across Florida.
The GCL Twins played a double header against the Orioles and split the results. In game 1 they prevailed 4-3 with Jacob Younis going 0-2.
In game 2 Mark Trau threw 1.1 scoreless innings in a losing effort with the Orioles winning 6-1. Joshua Hendricks was 0-3.
In the 7 inning game Mark came on in the 5th with 2 out and 1 on after the Orioles had blown the game apart scoring 5 runs. Mark immediately settled things inducing a fly ball to CF to close out the inning. He returned for the 6th, walked 2 and then once again settled down to retire the side with no runs scoring.
Mark has not given up a run in his last 8 outings, that’s 12.2 scoreless innings. He does however put himself under added pressure by giving up 8 walks in those outings. That is an improvement though on his earlier performances when he walked 6 in his first 3 games. His 1.15 ERA is impressive.
The Yankees won both games against the GCL Phillies with Josh Warner taking the loss in game 1. He threw 2.2 innings as the starter giving up 4H, 4R, 3BB, 3K for a 6.36ERA.
The GCL Pirates split the results with the Braves. In game 1 they won 2-1 with Dylan Child going 0-2 and in game 2 which they lost 1-5 Wilson Lee threw 1.1 scoreless innings extending to 4 his run of scoreless outings.
