DOWN ON THE FARM – Brad Tippett released

Beaten by injuries

The Twins released Brad Tippett today.

He was signed as a free agent in January 2006 just prior to playing for NSW U18′s in Geelong by veteran scout Howie Norsetter.

His best season was his 2nd year of pro ball, 2007 when he went W7-1 with a miniscule ERA of 0.93.   That year he was selected in the Baseball America Rookie All Star team.

He followed this with a solid 2008 going W10-4 with a 2.87ERA and gained selection in the Appalachian League Post Season All Star team.

2009 was his busiest year throwing 146 innings for a season W9-8 and 3.21ERA

Since then he has struggled with injuries throwing only 32 innings in 2010 and this year he has laboured through 18.2 innings for a 7.23ERA in the A+ Florida State League.
